JRAYouth.com was a website designed to connect people with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis from all around the world. This will be a place for JRAs to socialize and talk about their problems anonymously (or not).
Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) is a term used to describe a common type of arthritis in youth. It is a long-term (chronic) disease resulting in joint pain and swelling. While a person with JRA can do all the normal activities that everyone else does, you can be sure that it's not an easy ride. Click here for more information about JRA.
Our Missions:
1) To build an online community for people with JRA. There are many people with JRA in America, China, and other countries, but no place for them to interact. They think of themselves as having a “one-of-a-kind problem”, and are not willing to discuss it openly.
2) Create awareness. JRA is not an overly common problem for Americans and people worldwide, and its symptoms are sometimes not apparent. On e of the goals of this website is to create awareness, and help more people recognize that "hey, this is a real problem."
3) Supporting Research. JRAYouth.com hopes to progress to a stage where it's members are willing to take short surveys to help researchers. To do that, we will need a strong community base. It's a long way to go, so we'll need all the support we can get!
Ways you can help:
Be a member of the site.
Contribute to discussions.
Invite JRAs you know to this community.
Have a good time!
